GAC fundada en 1997 y desde el año 2009 es el productor más grande de automóviles en china, distribuyendo sus productos a todo el mundo.
A finales de 2010 GAC compró 51% de propiedad de Gonow, un fabricante de automóviles, vehículos utilitarios deportivos, subcompactos y camionetas. A principios de Noviembre 2010 Mitsubishi y el GAC firmaron un memorando de entendimiento para crear una nueva empresa conjunta.
Hoy en día GAC posee un renombre a nivel internacional el cual será presentado en chile en el salón del automóvil 2012 deslumbrando a los espectadores con su calidad, diseño y tecnología aplicada.
